Wedding favors are a centuries old tradition of saying "thank you" to your guests. Wedding favors began as extravagant and elaborate gifts presented by the European wealthy class to their guests. Today, the options for wedding favors are limitless, ranging from lavish to very simple. Some couples have even chosen to donate to their favorite charity in lieu of wedding favors.
Here are My Daughter's Cakes, we love suggesting edible wedding favors. There are many delicious choices that you can make to treat your guests. Consider these options:
A slice of wedding cake. This is a great option for those who are electing to have a large Venetian hour with dessert stations. Go ahead and have that big, beautiful wedding cake, but have your venue box the slices for the guests to take home. There are boxes made especially for wedding cake slices, and they can even be personalized. You can find some ideas here.
Chocolate Truffles or Cake Truffles. Two pieces per person is sufficient since both items can be quite rich. Presentation containers or boxes in keeping with your colors and theme look great at each place setting. Check these out.
Mini Pies. Mini pies are an awesome way to go for those of you having a rustic-style wedding. These mini pies we created for a wedding in 2015 were a huge hit. There are favor boxes for these tasty treats located here.
Flavored Popcorn. Like mini pies, flavored popcorn is a unique edible favor idea. Using the appropriate favor container can take the flavored popcorn idea from rustic to completely elegant. For rustic parties, consider mini mason jars . For more elegant or formal parties, check out these personalized stemless wine glasses that we filled with our delectable bacon bourbon popcorn and served as favors for a formal wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone.
Mini Tiered Wedding Cakes. For those who have a larger budget for favors, you may want to consider mini tiered wedding cakes for your guests. We absolutely loved working on these custom pieces that were decorated to compliment the colors and theme of our clients' wedding at The Venetian. With each tier hand cut, iced, covered in fondant and decorated, these beauties were sized to approximately 8.5" so that they fit into clear acrylic boxes that were 9" tall. If you love this idea, but prefer something on a smaller scale, opt for a single tier decorated cake that will fit into these pretty boxes.
The edible favor options featured here cover just about every budget and wedding style. I hope these options give you some really sweet ideas to treat your guests!
