Well, it's been slightly over a year since the last blog post. What happened to those blog posts, you might have been asking.
I can tell you that January 2019 probably wasn't my best month. At the tail end of my recovering from 3 weeks of double pneumonia and the flu, I received a phone call from our shop's landlord that water leaking was into the next unit. As I headed into the shop, the front windows were completely steamed over. I walked in to a burst pipe in the kitchen that probably had been bursting for a few hours already. After massive clean up, a full restoration of the kitchen ensued. It was a very frantic 3 weeks of managing contractors to complete the work in time for our February weddings. We were also slated to appear as a vendor at the Sophisticated Weddings Release Party at Capitale in New York City. Thanks to my wonderful landlord, the incredible Borough of Dumont Building and Health Departments, and our amazing staff, we were able to pull it off!
Once we put all the construction behind us, it was full steam ahead. And what a year it was!
The Sophisticated Weddings Release Party was a night to remember! The event was sponsored, in part, by Bellissima Prosecco, the company owned in part by Christie Brinkley. We knew Ms. Brinkley would be appearing at the event so we wanted to make a special cake flavor. We came up with a new cake flavor called Pink Diamonds Cake, which is a White Chocolate Cake infused with Bellissima Prosecco Brut and filled with Strawberry Prosecco Rose Buttlercream and compote. It was a huge hit!
Our season was filled with so many weddings and unique wedding cakes. I can't wait to share them all with you. A pleasant surprise from the season came the popularity of our mini wedding cake favors.
Another wonderful surprise was our participation with Bellissima Prosecco, Christie Brinkley and Yahoo! for an online LIfestyles segment that aired over Labor Day Weekend. You can see the segment on the front page of our website.
I'm so thrilled to be able to share with you the amazing weddings cakes we created last year. Some have made it into the Gallery, some we don't have good pictures of yet.
Stay tuned ... the Blog is back!
