Hempstead House is one of the stunning structures located at Sands Point Preserve, Long Island, NY, former home to the Guggenheim family. This Gatsby-style, roaring 20's summer mansion was the location for the beautiful wedding of Barbara and Ryan.
Barbara's mom reached out to me for her daughter's wedding cake by recommendation of another pastry chef. The inquiry was quite last minute - just a few weeks before the wedding. As we sat during the in-person wedding cake tasting, Barbara and Ryan's vision was roughly sketched out. Mini wedding cake favors to complement their cake design were added as a take home gift for their guests.
I loved the subtle, soft gold background painting on their cake. The contrasting dark green sugar leaves and oversized sugar roses gave a breathtaking finish. Their simple, single-tier mini cakes were also a hit.
