Simple elegance sparked fireworks for Kaitlin & Chris' July 4th wedding! Held at the Ramsey Golf & Country Club (ramseycountryclub.com), Kaitlin and Chris chose a theme that included ivory, blush and gold with an understated, elegant feel.
Kaitlin was local to Dumont, New Jesrey, where my cake parlor is located. Kaitlin walked by the shop one day and saw a display cake in the front window with pearls and hydrangea. She fell in love with the simplicity of the design and scheduled her consultation. At their cake tasting, we translated that design to a 3-tier wedding cake, bringing in touches of gold and blush sugar hydrangea. After spencing time with Chris and Kaitlin, I could see why Kaitlin loved the display cake. The understated, elegant style of the cake truly fit them as a couple.
With had wonderful fun at both cake tasting sessions. We held the second one to confirm their wedding cake flavor, but there was also a secret mission occuring that evening. Kaitlin's mom had contact med about a month or so prior asking if we would have the honor or creating something special for Kaitlin's surprise bridal shower. Wanting to have a different cake flavor at the shower than the wedding, Mom and I agreed to slip in two different "options" at the second cake tasting. With Kaitlin's mom, dad, grandmother and Chris present, we secretly gauged Kaitlin's opinion on the other "options." It was a success and for Kaitlin's shower she had two flavors: Vanilla-Strawberry and Vanilla-Lemon. For their wedding cake flavor, they chose a summery White Chocolate Key Lime.
